Westgate Associates Ltd Announcement...
24th June 2026
DTG and Westgate have announced a strategic partnership aimed at helping life sciences organisations address a growing set of manufacturing, supply chain and operational challenges that are increasingly influencing business performance, investor confidence and the global delivery of medicines to patients.
The announcement comes at a time when many biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies are facing a shift in priorities, driving a demand for industry-specific experience and manufacturing and supply chain expertise.
For emerging and venture-backed biopharma companies, investor scrutiny evolves beyond initial scientific validation. As novel assets progress into and beyond Phase 2 of a clinical trial programme, leadership teams are increasingly being challenged to show how innovative therapies can be manufactured and supplied at commercial scale. Whether the long-term plan is to secure an exit, merger or IPO, establishing a credible route from development through commercial manufacturing and patient supply has become a critical component of enterprise value creation.
The DTG-Westgate collaboration is intended to support CEOs, Chief Scientific Officers and VC leadership teams to develop the manufacturing capabilities, supply chain strategies and operating models required to serve thousands of patients while maintaining commercial viability. DTG CEO Dave Tudor said:
"Investors increasingly want confidence that organisations can build scalable operations, establish robust supply chains and ultimately deliver therapies to patients in a sustainable and profitable way. By combining DTG's manufacturing and digital expertise across a range of emerging, complex drug modalities with Westgate's network supply chain capabilities, we can help organisations address that challenge much earlier in their growth journey."
The collaboration is also set to serve a second group facing significant transformation pressures: Chief Supply Chain Officers and Heads of Global Manufacturing within established pharmaceutical and life sciences organisations.
Recent geopolitical events, trade disruptions and changing market dynamics have exposed vulnerabilities in many global supply chains. Organisations often recognise the need to redesign networks during periods of disruption but translating that urgency into long-term strategic action can prove difficult once business conditions stabilise. Increasingly, leaders are looking for ways to convert crisis-driven insights into lasting competitive advantage.
At the same time, these organisations are under pressure to digitise operations, improve sustainability performance and strengthen resilience, often while controlling costs and maintaining service levels.
These competing priorities have increased the complexity of strategic manufacturing and network decisions.
Under the collaboration, DTG and Westgate bring deep industry experience and expertise to organisations, working with them to redesign and implement supply networks that balance resilience, operational efficiency, sustainability and cost performance. The combined offering includes supply network design, manufacturing strategy, outsourcing and partner selection, regulatory and quality considerations, material sourcing, API-to-patient delivery models and supporting digital capabilities.
A key component of the collaboration is the integration of data, digital and technology foundations designed to support greater visibility across manufacturing and supply operations. The organisations say these capabilities can help companies identify emerging risks earlier, improve continuity of supply and minimise the impact of future disruptions in delivering to patients.
“Supply chain resilience has become one of the defining strategic challenges facing pharmaceutical manufacturers today," said Ian Gallagher, founding Director of Westgate. "The leadership challenge comes when the immediate pressures subside and operations stabilise, resulting in a loss of momentum in strategic network redesign initiatives. The DTG Westgate partnership enables true end-to-end redesign, ensure that lessons learned during a crisis are addressed and fully embedded before the next one arrives.”
As pressures on the life sciences sector continue to evolve, the ability to connect scientific innovation, manufacturing scalability and supply chain resilience is becoming an increasingly important source of competitive advantage. The combined expertise and experience of DTG and Westgate will help organisations address these challenges through integrated strategies that strengthen both operational performance and long-term business sustainability.
